GUIA is managed by Gerhard A. Seiffermann and Fátima Silva de Noronha Oliveira Seiffermann
Gerhard A. Seiffermann
Gerhard A. Seiffermann (born in 1958) first visited Portugal in 1977 and has been a permanent resident since 1990. After studying Romance languages (Spanish, Portuguese and Italian language and literature) and History of Art in Marburg, Frankfurt and Lisbon, he became an independent entrepreneur in 1990 - running an import company in Lisbon. He had been translating since 1986 for the Architecture Museum in Frankfurt and worked for several years in the Frankfurt Trade Fair (amongst others) as an interpreter. From 1990 onwards he also began translating texts into Portuguese - as a freelancer for Portuguese agencies and businesses in Lisbon. In 1994 he decided to close his first company and in the same year married Fatima Noronha Silva de Oliveira Seiffermann. They then worked together in their company, Banco de Palavras, mainly for German service providers.
Fátima Silva de Noronha Oliveira Seiffermann
Fátima Silva de Noronha Oliveira Seiffermann (born in 1965) graduated with a 4-year Translation degree from ISLA - Lisbon, specialising in German and English. She worked as an intern and product manager for Bosch Portugal and participated in other continuing education courses (Marketing, Accounting, etc.). After marrying Gerhard A. Seiffermann, in 1994, they worked together in their company, Banco de Palavras, mainly for German service providers. They took the next logical step in 2006 when they took the helm at Guia Traduções e Representações Lda, with whom they had worked since 1995, having established a firm bond of trust with the former management team.
